London-based dance masters Simian Mobile Disco will headline room one at the Farringdon superclub on Friday.

The duo – known for their work with the likes of The Gossip’s Beth Ditto – released their new record, Unpatterns, today (Monday, May 14). It has been described as a foray into more minimal techno territory and a bit of a departure from their catchy dancefloor classics such as the Ditto-voiced Cruel Intentions. The people at Fabric say their appearance will be “a spectacle” that “has been a long time coming”.

SMD will be joined in room one by Berlin-based Objekt, a producer with a fast-rising reputation, as well as Blondes, Daniel Avery and more, while Bristolian dubstep label Tectonic mounts a takeover of room two. Tectonic head honcho Pinch and his stablemates, including Distal and Youngsta, will be joined by special guest Kode9, boss of London’s Hyperdub imprint.

Room three, curated by Sonic Router, will see Canadian producer XI’s London debut, alongside West Norwood Cassette Library, Two Inch Punch, Altered Natives and Wattville.

* Simian Mobile Disco are at Fabric, in Charterhouse Street, EC1, on Friday, May 18. For tickets or more info visit www.fabriclondon.com.
