Transfer news: Rafael van der Vaart has ruled out leaving Tottenham this summer.
Rafael van der Vaart has committed his future to Tottenham and is looking forward to challenging for the title under Andre Villas-Boas.
The 29-year-old Dutchman, who has been one of Spurs’ most important players since signing from Real Madrid in 2010, had been strongly linked with a return to his old club Hamburg.
But he is predicting big things under Spurs’ new manager, and has announced he has no intention of leaving.
“My place is at Spurs,” he told The Sun. “I want to win the title with this club.
“The race for the top four will be a total war from the very first day,” he continued.
“The new coach has good plans for me and this is important.
“I have heard excellent reports about AVB. We have very good attacking players and if AVB imposes an offensive system the team could be a real spectacle.”
Aston Villa striker Christian Benteke has hit back at reports suggesting that he wants to leave Villa Park this summer.
