Tottenham have signed Hoffenheim playmaker Gylfi Sigurdsson on a permanent deal for an undisclosed fee.

The Iceland international scored seven times in 19 games for Swansea on a loan move last season and had been rumoured to be returning to the Liberty Stadium.

Liverpool had also been interested in signing the 22-year-old since Brendan Rodgers took over at Anfield.
