Hugo Lloris has admitted it is ‘never nice’ to hear he may face a battle to pull on a Tottenham shirt and will wait to discover where he fits in Andre Villas-Boas’ plans.
The goalkeeper is currently on international duty with France where he is the number one choice.
He signed for Spurs on transfer deadline day but after Brad Freidel’s starring role in the 1-1 draw with Norwich City the Portuguse boss insisted the American will be hard to dislodge.
France boss Didier Deschamps spoke out about Villas-Boas’ comments and claimed Lloris was unhappy, but the keeper insists he will have talks with his new club manager when he returns for domestic business this week.
Asked about Villas-Boas’ comments, Lloris said: “Obviously it’s never nice, but we’ll see when we return to work on Wednesday.
“When I join up with the national team I concentrate uniquely on that and we’ll see about my personal situation as soon as I go back.”
Andre Villas-Boas believes his former club Chelsea are the favourites to win next season’s Premier League title.
