The Tottenham head coach gave his side a kick-start at half-time during their pre-season friendly against New York Red Bulls
Tottenham new boy Gylfi Sigurdsson has revealed that Andre Villas-Boas gave he and his team-mates some choice words during their 2-1 win over New York Red Bulls.
Spurs were trailing 1-0 at half time but the Iceland international set up Gareth Bale before scoring himself to give his new side the win.
“It was a good goal and good to set up Gareth as well,” said Gylfi. “It was a nice strike and great to win the game.
“The gaffer had a few words to say at half-time and that gave us a kick-start for the second half. It was great to get the goals and win the game.
“We want to win every game and to get into the habit of winning every game.”
With the Premier League title already in Manchester United’s hands and the relegation issues also decided, the battle for European football is the only unanswered question ahead of Sunday’s final round of games.
