Real Madrid assistant Aitor Karanka has given the biggest indication yet that the Spanish side want to sign Tottenham star Luka Modric.

The Croatia international has also been linked with Manchester United, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain and looks as if his future lies away from White Hart Lane after refusing to go on tour.

“Which club would not want a player like him?” Karanka told AS.

“He is an outstanding footballer and had a great tournament (Euro 2012). It is clear that he would fit in Madrid.”
