Italy manager Cesare Prandelli responded to Slaven Bilic’s claims that Luka Modric, who has been linked with Manchester United, is better than Andrea Pirlo
Italy manager Cesare Prandelli believes that Tottenham star Luka Modric, who is tracked by Manchester United, must win trophies if he wants to be considered one of the world’s greats.
Croatia boss Slaven Bilic believes that the playmaker is better than Italian counterpart Andrea Pirlo but the Italy boss disagrees citing their honours.
“Modric is a great player but to say he is better than Andrea? I think he needs to start winning some trophies first,” Prandelli said.
“At the end of their career players are remembered for the medals they win.”
Modrich has won the Croatian First League three times, the Croatian Cup twice and the Croatian Super Cup once.
Pirlo, on the other hand, has won Serie A three times, the Coppa Italia once, the Champions League twice, the Uefa Super Cup twice and the Fifa Club World Cup once.
