Tottenham Transfer News: Emmanuel Adebayor has confirmed he is in discussion with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy
Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor has confirmed that he is in talks with Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy about completing a permanent move to White Hart Lane.
The 28-year-old joined Spurs on a season long loan and scored 17 goals in 33 league games as the north Londoners finished fourth.
The striker wrote on his official Twitter account: “Loved my spell at Tottenham. We are working hard with the chairman (Daniel Levy) to make it permanent. Will keep you informed!!”
Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp would like to keep the Togo international at White Hart Lane but the striker’s high wages could prove an issue.
Adebayor is likely to be surplus to requirements as the Premier League champions are set to invest in their squad further.
Chelsea brought in less money from the Premier League than Arsenal or Tottenham, despite finishing above the pair.
