Tottenham transfer news: Leandro Damiao could be headed for Europe
Tottenham target Leandro Damiao says he could leave Internacional this summer if the right deal comes along.
The Brazilian international has been a long-term target of Spurs, who have an agreement with his club which saw them sign fellow countryman Sandro.
Inter Milan and Barcelona are among the sides supposedly interested in the 22-year-old, who signed a long-term deal with the Brazilian outfit last year.
“I can’t say much, it depends on Internacional too,” Leandro said.
“Of course my wish is to stay, but there comes a time when you need to go, but I don’t know whether it is that time.
“If an offer arrives, then we will decide.”
His manager Dorival Junior expects bids and is already thinking about replacing the striker.
“We have to get ready,” he said. “There is nothing concrete yet but it is natural that several players draw attention.
“We will try to anticipate any loss by signing another player to minimise any damage [to the team].”
With the Premier League title already in Manchester United’s hands and the relegation issues also decided, the battle for European football is the only unanswered question ahead of Sunday’s final round of games.
