Villarreal striker Giuseppe Rossi’s agent has put Tottenham on alert by revealing that the Italian is open to a move to the Premier League.

Spurs were strongly linked with a move for the former Manchester United frontman this summer but he remains a Villarreal player despite their relegation from La Liga.

The 25-year-old has been out injured for almost a year and is expected to return to action in early 2013, prompting rumours of a possible January transfer to White Hart Lane.

According to his agent Federico Pastorello, a move to Spurs remains a possibility despite Rossi cooming close to joining Serie A side Roma during the summer.

“Rossi had given the all-clear to the move, but then it never quite materialised,” Pastorello told Sky Sport Italia when quizzed about the Roma move.

“There were several clubs who showed an interest, but at this moment we mustn’t be in a rush.

“The Premier League clubs? We won’t rule anything out.”
