Hamburg sporting director Frank Arnesen has claimed that the club are still interested in Tottenham star Rafael van der Vaart.

The German club’s benefactor, Klaus-Michael Kuhne, subsequently stated that the club had no interest in the Spurs playmaker, but when Arnesen was asked if this was the case, the Dane replied: “No, it’s not true.”

The 29-year-old joined the north Londoners in 2010 and has scored 24 goals in 61 Premier League appearances.
