Transfer news: Manuel Almunia believes Real Madrid have paid over the odds for the Croatian
Former Arsenal goalkeeper Manuel Almunia believes that Tottenham have been fortunate to be paid so much for the services of Luka Modric.
The Croatian went to Real Madrid for £33million but the Watford man believes that does not represent value for money.
“Modric is a good player, but I do not know what all the fuss around him is,” Almunia said toCOM Radio.
“€42m seems a bit exorbitant, he is a good player and he can be useful for Madrid but the price is a bit exaggerated.”
Tottenham’s Andros Townsend says he has learned valuable lessons during his stellar loan spell with QPR – and he is keen to impress Spurs’ coaches again today when he faces Liverpool at Anfield.
