Gael Clichy believes Premier League title justifies exit from the Gunners
Manchester City full back Gael Clichy believes joining the Premier League champions from Arsenal last summer was a turning point in his career and he has no regrets about quitting the Emirates for the Etihad.
The 26-year-old spent eight years with Arsene Wenger’s side and did not win any silverware since an FA Cup triumph in 2005.
“It’s funny, but I am a vastly different player this year since I moved to City,” Clichy told Sky Sports News. “In my head, it is a turning point in my career. I wanted to see where it could take me. I do not regret it for a moment, as I have gained in self-confidence.
“It has been 10 years that I have played in the Premier League, which is not bad.
“I am champion of England and that is important in the life of a player. One feels stronger.”
With the Premier League title already in Manchester United’s hands and the relegation issues also decided, the battle for European football is the only unanswered question ahead of Sunday’s final round of games.
