Transfer news: Hugo Lloris appears to want to stay in Ligue 1
Lyon goalkeeper Hugo Lloris appears focused on playing for the French side in Ligue 1, despite interest from Arsenal and Tottenham.
The 25-year-old France captain is now looking at taking the fight to big-spending Paris Saint-Germain.
“Aside from us, I would say PSG [are among the favourites for the title],” Lloris told FourFourTwo.
“They are a talented team. They have spent a lot of money and have some very good players.
“The pressure will really be on them to prove they are the best.”
The Ligue 1 favourites have brought in the likes of Ezequiel Lavezzi, Thiago Silva and Zlatan Ibrahimovic yet Lloris believes this will make Ligue 1 stronger.
“This is modern football,” he added. “All the great clubs buy the best players.
“I think it will make all the clubs in Ligue 1 better.
“It will also bring a lot of attention to our championship around the world and that is a good thing.
“I look forward to playing them.”
With the Premier League title already in Manchester United’s hands and the relegation issues also decided, the battle for European football is the only unanswered question ahead of Sunday’s final round of games.
