The Chelsea manager backed his former boss to do well at White Hart Lane
Chelsea manager Roberto di Matteo has wished former boss Andre Villas-Boas all the best at Tottenham.
The Italian served as the Portuguese manager’s coach at the Blues but stepped in when Villas-Boas was sacked in March.
Now the pair will be going head to head in the league with Di Matteo a Champions League winner with the Blues.
“I wish him the best of luck,” Di Matteo said. “He’s a very good manager and I’m sure he’ll be a success.
“It doesn’t surprise me that he’s back. I think it’s a good choice.”
Manchester City midfielder Jack Rodwell has been called into the England squad for the forthcoming friendlies against Republic of Ireland and Brazil.
