Transfer news: The Huddersfield striker has been linked with a move to the Premier League

Huddersfield manager Simon Grayson has insisted that Jordan Rhodes is only for sale if a sizable offer comes in for the striker.

The 22-year-old was in sensational form last season, scoring 40 goals as the Terriers won promotion to the Championship, via the play-offs.

Manchester United, Everton, Newcastle, Fulham, West Ham, Tottenham and Aston Villa have all been linked with Rhodes but Grayson insisted that any bidder will have to reach the Terriers’ asking price.

“Our stance hasn’t changed – it would take a very serious offer to tempt us to sell,” Grayson told the Huddersfield Daily Examiner.

“When you score 40 goals in a season, there is sure to be speculation. There’s nothing any of us can do about that.

“But the great thing about Jordan is that he won’t let it go to his head. He showed last season he can handle all the talk and go about his job, and that will carry on.”

Rhodes has returned to training with the Yorkshire club and has intimated that he is happy at the Galpharm Stadium.

“The chairman and I have spoken to Jordan about where we want the club to go,” Grayson added. “He’s happy with the situation and so are we.”

“As far as Jordan is concerned, it’s business as usual.

“He returned for pre-season training last Thursday and got straight down to work, which is exactly what you’d expect of a no-nonsense person like him.
