This lovely ladybird is the result of just one of a host of insect-themed activities a Tottenham museum has laid on to entertain the little ones this summer.
Nine-year-old Ashleigh Knight created this brightly-coloured bug as part of Squashy Bugs at Bruce Castle Museum on Sunday – one of 10 events designed to get children out into the open to search for creepy-crawlies in August.
But, as deputy curator Rob Waite explained, all is not lost if the weather’s bad as there is plenty to keep kids busy inside. He said: “It gets them away from the computer screens and everybody likes it – the parents like to get involved as well.
“It is one of the few opportunities that parents seem to have to sit down and make things with their children.”
Two to four-year-olds can bring their favourite headgear along to the museum on Saturday between 10.30am and 11.30am for Hold On To Your Hat.
Thousands of people poured into Priory Park on Sunday for the 21st annual Crouch End Fun Run and Festival.
