A woman was hit by a train and killed at Alexandra Palace station on Saturday afternoon.

British Transport Police were called to the station at 3.50pm where they found a 44-year-old woman, believed to be from the local area, who had been struck by the 7.55am Inverness to Kings Cross Service.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police are currently treating the death as non-suspicious.
