Commuters across Haringey have been battling travel chaos today because of a 24-hour bus drivers’ strike over Olympic bonuses.
Bus workers from 17 companies walked out this morning (Friday), affecting many routes across the borough.
There are no buses running on the route 41 from Wood Green to London Bridge, the 271 from Highgate Village to Moorgate and the 43 from Muswell Hill to London Bridge.
A limited service is running on the W3 route between Northumberland Park and Finsbury Park, the 253 and 254 through Manor House, the 149 through Tottenham and the 141 between Wood Green and London Bridge. The W7 between Muswell Hill and Finsbury Park is unaffected by the strike, with all buses running as normal.
The strikers want a £500 payment for working during the Olympics during July and Augusts, when the number of passengers using London’s bus network will skyrocket.
