The fight to save a famous Crouch End music studio has stepped up a gear – but the man behind the campaign is keen not to make it “us against them”.
Resident and musician Steve Watson wants to stop The Church Studios being turned into five flats, shops and office space after it was revealed owner and international pop star David Gray was seeking planning permission for change of use.
Mr Watson is determined the studios stay as is, and has started a petition – although he hasn’t give up hope Mr Gray may change his mind.
The Crouch Hill resident said: “It’s important to not make it us against them. David Gray is a musician and, as a musician, he probably wants to keep it as a music space. It is important to have a dialogue with him to look at whether we can explore all the options before it gets turned into flats.”
