The proportion of students earning five or more GCSEs at A*-C with English and maths climbed by 2 per cent to 88pc. Not only that, every student gained at least one GCSE pass.

Top achievers included Ramiz Nyaz Amad, who got 13 GCSEs and five A or AS-levels, and Neslihan Karakoy, Edwin Elguedj and Connor Diblin, who all went home with 10 GCSEs at A* and A grades.

Vivian Reis Rodrigues and Kimarne Henry, lead singers in the school’s Everybody Dreams song, both took their exams a year early and got 11 A*-Cs and one A-level between them.

Headteacher Tony Hartney said: “I am so proud of the students. They are magnificent young people. They deserve this success and I feel so thrilled for them. The staff also deserve the highest of praise; they have given their all to inspire the children to achieve this success. The staff and students are truly amazing and make Gladesmore the wonderful place it is.”

The school says that value-added measures of progress will put Gladesmore “firmly in the top few schools in the country” in government league tables.
