The Bizarre Bowes Park walk – potentially the first-ever guided tour of Bounds Green and Bowes Park – is taking place this Sunday, giving an insight into one of London’s many boroughs which are found off the tourist trail.

It’s the brainchild of Peter Berthoud who, while not a local, has got to know the area over the last year and has been amazed by what he has discovered – and he believes it’s enough to tempt people away from the big sights.

“When you think London, you think Big Ben, but it’s not really typical London. There is enthusiasm for people seeing the real London – like Bowes Park.”

Mr Berthoud is already planning more tours in different areas of London, including his home borough of Pimlico and further south in areas like Peckham.
