A stark naked streaker sparked a police chase during the London Olympic Torch relay today (Tuesday).
Police pursued the nude runner along the streets of Henley upon Thames, near to the route the torch was taking.
Video (above) shows the moment he was captured and his dignity restored – partially.
A 27-year-old man is being held in custody on suspicion of outraging public decency.
The nude chase was probably not the sort of race that Olympics organisers’ had in mind for the Games.
Assistant Chief Constable John Campbell, of Thames Valley police said: “This was an isolated incident that was quickly dealt with by police officers and thankfully did not disrupt the Torch Relay as it passed through Henley.
“The Torch Relay events of yesterday and today have been attended by thousands of people who lined the routes through towns and villages and seemed to have really enjoyed this once in a lifetime experience and we have every confidence that this will continue.”
What the owner of the property onto which officers bustled him made of it all, is as yet unknown.
