Haringey Mayor Cllr David Browne (far left) celebrates the official re-opening of Finsbury Gardens with councillors and residents.
The open space in Finsbury Road, Wood Green, received a makeover after community members secured £50,000 from the Big Lottery Fund to regenerate the park last year.
Last Saturday, around 150 people visited the park to mark its re-opening and enjoyed food and drink, as well as performances from a drumming group.
Visitors were also treated to a cake, modelled on Finsbury Gardens, made especially to commemorate the re-opening.
Kate Franzmann, co-ordinator of the Finsbury Gardens Regeneration Group, said: “It was a wonderful community day bringing all sections of the community together.
“The park is a safe little area to send your kids out to play on their own.”
