A concert to highlight the plight of modern-day slaves brought together gospel, rap and chocolate at a Muswell Hill church.
The fundraising concert for Christian Anti-Slavery Today (CAST) also got the audience at Muswell Hill Baptist Church, Dukes Avenue, involved, adding to the vibrancy of the evening.
But the purpose of the evening was not lost, as speakers focused on ways to combat the reality of slavery today.
Ola Omiteru, a founding member of CAST, said: “Most people think that slavery is largely a thing of the past. But we need to help them realise that we must do something about it now.”
“Now, we look forward to the CAST Freedom Festival. It will carry on the work of showing individuals how simple, everyday choices in their lifestyle can help bring freedom to others.”
- The CAST Freedom Festival is being held on Saturday, September 22, at the Birchwood Centre, Fortis Green Road. For more information or to volunteer, contact CAST at email@example.com
