Planning permission is being sought to extend an office block in Bounds Green Road so it can be turned into a hotel with ten parking spaces and 24-hour ‘service’.

However, residents are worried about the lack of parking and the exact nature of an “apartment-hotel”.

A letter of objection to Haringey’s planning department said: “This is over-development and has nothing to do with employment or the needs of local residents, bedsits are the cheapest and quickest way for developers to have big returns.”

The applicants say Bounds Green is the perfect location for a hotel aimed at business and leisure travellers.

The application will be heard by the planning committee.
