Base has been established in the heart of Hampstead for almost 10 years and has recently opened a sister Branch in Baker Street. If you thought that all Oriental restaurants were the same, then think again. Here is a selection of restaurants serving food with a difference.

Hi Sushi, ( 830 High Road, North Finchley, 020-8446 9808, and 16 Hampstead High St, 020-7794 2828) is a Japanese restaurant known well for producing a wide range of Japanese foods under one roof, teppanyaki, noodles, traditional Japanese dishes served with modern flare. All sushi is hand made to order, not pre-prepared and served a la conveyor belt.

Tokyo City ( 46 Gresham St, EC2, 020-7726 0306) is ideal for a healthy lunch. Hidden away from the busy streets of the City, only those well informed know its whereabouts. Recent additions to the menu are soup noodles.

Koi (1e Palace Gate. Kensington, W8, 020-7581 8778), a Japanese restaurant, is the best known secret in Kensington, a intimate place that will have you feeling the chefs are cooking especially for you.

If you want to eat the same food at home, Capital Cuisine Delivery will deliver all of the above restaurant’s food to your home or office.

They offer a 30 per cent discount on your first order. Phone 020-7439 9898.
